Loveday Recap

As much as I love Valentine's Day, I'm not one to go overboard on buying gifts, and I don't expect anything in return. We did manage to have a fun celebration yesterday!

When Scott picked me up for lunch yesterday, he brought me two dozen pink roses! He knows me too well to know that I would prefer pink over red.
We ate lunch at Brick Oven, my choice. I like their lunch specials.
Celebrated with my grandma and aunts and uncle that evening. My maw maw cooked enchiladas and all the fixins, soooo good! It was a fun change from the typical Valentine's Day celebration.

When we got home, I gave Scott his Valentine's goodies. This year I made him a custom Datevitation coupon book and gave him some reese's. His coupon book has 10 dates, all customized to things we have or have wanted to do together. We'll be using one of the coupons this weekend. "Double date with a couple of your choice" I'm excited!

Be Mine

I wanted to wish all of my Valentine's a very happy day, you included!! I love each and everyone of you that follow along with me, and I'm very grateful for that. I hope you're having a great day, just as I am!

I'm a part of our work employees committee and last night we prepared for our building wide flower sale, going on today...
We started at seven this morning and have already made a nice profit, not to mention it's been very fun!

Scott is meeting me for lunch this afternoon, which I'm so looking forward to. Little things like that make me so happy!

As for tonight, we will be celebrating with my whole family. My maw maw decided to have everyone over tonight and she's going to cook for us. I'm looking forward to spending Valentine's with all of the people I love most in life. It makes it much more special!

Wishing my Valentine a happy day! I love you Scott. :)

One year of Engagement

Happy New Year everyone! While most of you will be celebrating the new year, I will be celebrating one year of engagement!

Last year we went skiing and were here for New Years. We were cooking dinner(chili) and getting ready for our drive home the next morning. Before we sat down to eat, Scott popped the question! We drank at least two bottles of champagne and ate our chili dinner. We told ourselves that we should make it a tradition to eat chili and drink champagne on New Years day from now on. SO we are sticking to our word, and cooking chili tonight and drinking champagne. I love this tradition, as weird as it sounds!
We are still in Angel Fire, skiing our little butts off. Yesterday it was 19 degrees and it snowed all day long. This Texas girl can't really hang in those conditions. I made 3 runs and called it a day.
Today I'm taking it easy, while Scott hits the slopes. We got to sleep in a little bit, ate cinnamon rolls, and now I'm just catching up with the online world. Later, we might go tubing, and sneak into the resort for some hot tub action!

2012 has been such a wonderful year, I wanted to recap some fun things that have happened.

  • Most importantly, Jan 1st we got engaged!
  • I started blogging!
  • I got a new job in July.
  • We went on three great getaways: New Mexico in June. East coast in August. Angel fire in December/January.
  • We planned the majority of our wedding.
  • Saw Aaron Freeman of ween in concert.
  • Went to a TCU game.
  • Grew our family with our new addition Melvin!!!
  • Jammed out that the ACL music festival
  • Our first wedding shower was thrown for us. It was a tea party theme which was adorable!
  • We saw the F1 races!
  • Made new friends.
  • Grew in my faith.

2013 came faster than we could have imagined but I couldn't be more excited to become a wife this year. Also, I'm not one to make new years resolutions, but I do plan on continuing to live simply and try to live in the moment more. This is going to be a great year!

Happy New Year!

Skiing

We've decided to take off for the New Year...It seems as if that's becoming the norm around this time of year.

Ever since dating Scott, I have become a huge fan of skiing. We went on our first ski trip together March of 2011. Since then we've gone two more times.
March 2011-Spring Break-Angel Fire
December 2011/January 2012-Angel Fire
March 2013-Spring Break-Angel Fire
After going back and forth on plans for skiing, we finally bit the bullet and decided to go! I can't wait to get back on the mountain. We're planning on skiing in Angel Fire, where the condo is, and Taos. We might even try skiing in wolf creek one of those days... We shall see! I plan on updating the blog while I'm away, so stay turned!

Christmas Baby

How do you like my makeshift holiday card?!

Scott and I are in full swing with the holiday celebrations. Scott is my Christmas baby, with his Birthday being on Christmas Eve's Eve. We had a great time celebrating yesterday! I woke up and made Scott his Bday breakfast.
We took our furbabies to the dog park in Round Rock. We like that one because it's fenced in. Melvin did really well for it being his first time. He has no problem hanging out with other dogs. He's a sweet soul.

From there we went home and bathed the dogs, and got ready for the movies. Us grandparents went to a matinee at our new favorite movie spot, galaxy theaters. It's a theater full of about 30 recliners, and a full menu/bar which makes for the best movie experience! And it's a great price! We saw the Hobbit. I thought it was entertaining.

We came home to freshen up for dinner. We went out with his family to Trulucks... Holy YUM! We stuffed ourselves with crab, shrimp, trout, you name it! After dinner was all said and done, a complimentary dessert come out for the Birthday boy... some chocolate cherry cake... WOW! I was sad that I couldn't even try a bite, but I heard it was TDF!
Today, our family Christmas celebrations begin. We're heading to my Mee Maws house in South Austin first, where my dad will be making enchiladas. He seriously makes THE BEST! I love that tradition of ours, rather than the traditional turkey.
From there, we will head in the opposite direction to Georgetown to celebrate with my mom and Bob. I can't wait to see everyone!!!

Oh, and we decided two days ago that we're going to take a little vacation for 9 days next week! More on that later!!!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!!!

Christmas Spirit

I am beyond excited that it's beginning to look and FEEL like Christmas in Austin! I've been having fun and spending time with friends and family doing Christmas type things.

We went to a gingerbread house making party. One word: FUN! Some people showed up with their A game and made some incredible houses! Scott and I had fun building our "starter home," compared to all the other mansions. I had fun with eating the accessories..."One for me, one for the house."
Some houses were complete with solar panels(top left), and a car port(bottom left). Thanks to Thane and Amy for hosting such a fun party!

Last weekend we Scott hung the Christmas lights, and we put up all of our Christmas decorations, which is not very many. I plan on buying up deals after Christmas to add to our collection. We did get some stockings as a gift from my aunt, which I'm very happy about! She said it was against the law to not have stockings.
I'm on the look out for some cutesy doggy stockings, so if you know of any, let your girl know!

Last week, Scott joined me and some of my work friends for our Holiday Happy Hour. I had a great time, minus overcoming my sickness. (I was so sick last week!! Sorry for the lack of posts).
I love my co-workers, and I'm glad we get along so well! We need to have another outing pronto!

Continuing our Christmas outings, last night I went with my future mother in law and my mom to the Austin Symphony Christmas Sing-along! I LOVE this Christmas tradition. This was my third time going to this concert. It puts me in the Christmas spirit, and gets me pumped up for the season. I love that the whole auditorium sings along and all the joyous kiddos excited to see Santa, Rodolph, and Frosty.
 Happy Wednesday friends!

Linking up with Shanna for some randomness Wednesday!!!

Ornament swap!

I had the pleasure of linking up with Rachel at Life as Mrs. and Christina at My Life, Laughs and Love for their Ornament Swap. This was my first ever ornament swap and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I had a blast getting to know my partner that I was paired up with!

I got partnered up with Tausha, the author behind Taush.0. Isn't that a clever title? I'm only assuming that's it's a play on words with the show Tosh.0, which I am a fan. So automatically, I was intrigued. As I began to read her blog, I learned that she has an adorable family that's expanding in the next month or maybe even sooner!!! She's going to be a mom y'all, to a precious baby girl! I've enjoyed reading her mommy updates, her love story with her husband Chad, and researching her adorable etsy shop where she sells cute burlap banners! Just a little info to keep in your back pocket!

I didn't get just one, but two ornaments from sweet Tausha!
About the swap... She must have read my blog for 2.5 seconds and noticed my love for my dog because her ornaments were spot on! My new puppy Melvin has literally become my best freind, so when I received these ornaments, I was thrilled.

Check out what I got her at this post!

I'm off to read what everyone else got from their swap partner!

Quick Update

Since I haven't posted in a week, I wanted to show you a snip-it of what I've been up to in pictures. I suppose I have been pretty busy trying to catch up from the Holiday. That's pretty sad considering it's been a whole week! So here I am, finally posting!

My holiday break started at 11am on Wednesday.
We met up with Scott's parents and sister for a movie. We saw Life of Pi. Wow! That was a great movie! I def recommend it. Oh and if you can see in in recliners with food, do that too!

Thursday
Turkey day. I made cream cheese brownies and green bean casserole for the family feast.

Friday
We set up our Christmas tree. These are all of our random ornaments. We don't have a theme for our tree :)
Mac was being a bit dramatic, and wanted attention. He kept moving from place to place just sitting alone and crying. Doesn't that sound sad?! He really does get attention, don't worry... Just cracked me up!

Saturday
Melvin had his first adventure to Canyon Lake. We went out to spend the day with Scott's sister and her family. Their new house was just precious!

You must watch these videos!

Melvin wasn't the best swimmer. He just needs a little bit more practice.

Sunday

Thanks to Kyndal for the pic!
I spent Sunday with girl friends celebrating at a baby shower. One of my good friends from high school is expecting, and due in January! Such a fun time.
Got lots of cuddles from this little man

Thursday
Last nights dinner that I cooked all by myself. I'm getting better(kinda) at this whole domestic thing.
That's pork cutlet, stuffing, peas and carrots. Mmmm! I want some more right now.

Tomorrow is the first day of December, CRAZY! It's going to be one busy month, that's for sure. Maybe I'll start my Christmas shopping soon... Maybe not?... Happy Friday everyone!
